Launched in December 2016, the Hoddesdon Enterprise Centre (previously known as Ambition Broxbourne Business Centre) provides high quality office space let on flexible terms. The centre comprises 68 office and studio units ranging from 150 to 500 sq. ft., as well as state-of-the-art meeting rooms, virtual offices and free parking.
Why?
The business centre provides much-needed office space to support the growth of SMEs, contributing to the LEP's goal of accelerating business-led growth within the county. We are working to remove barriers to growth to enable the substantial number of micro and small businesses in Hertfordshire to expand and become principal wealth generators within the county.
Impact
By 2021, the business centre looks to facilitate the delivery of 300 new jobs and the creation of 60 new businesses, assist 170 businesses through training sessions/events, and inject £20m back into the local economy.
The business centre is home to over 40 businesses, spanning a broad range of industries including property services, finance, business consultancy, kitchen design and installation, construction and beauty training.
Funding
Hertfordshire LEP invested £1.8m from the Local Growth Fund towards the project. The centre was developed in partnership with Basepoint Business Centres and Broxbourne Borough Council. The centre is now run by Oxford Innovation Space.
This project was approved by the board on the 21st May 2015.
